Conference on Emerging Design and Analysis Issues

in Genomic Studies in Population Sciences

October 11-12, 2007

Conference Center at Harvard Medical, Boston

The Department of Biostatistics of Harvard School of Public Health and the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will host a two-day conference workshop on October 11-12 (Thursday- Friday), 2007, entitled "Emerging Design and Analysis Issues in Genomic Studies in Population Sciences".

The goal is to examine the interplay between emerging genomic technologies, population- based studies, and developing statistical and computational methods. This conference, supported by a grant from the NCI and NHLBI, seeks to engage statisticians, genomic epidemiologists and computational biologists in discussions of design, data, and analysis issues in the increasing number of genomic studies in the population sciences.

The conference will focus on three important areas and aims at in-depth discussions of major quantitative issues in these three areas:

Each topic would consist of two parts: a session of three talks followed by a panel discussion session.
